The Expressed Need:

All Call emergency paging system.

The client wishes to re-purpose facility-wide access point data runs in place of new PoE speakers.  Create customized scalable paging solution with custom and zones.  Add new Cat 6 runs for additional PoE speakers and 5 touch panel locations.  Create simplified custom interface for touch panels in 5 paging zones.  Ability to page each zone, or all zones in customized groups.  Each paging station  location must have a simple user interface for bi-directional communication, and or to the zones, or partial zones.

"We've been looking for a company who was able to do this for us.  We just couldn't find anyone that could, or even knew how..."

The Solution:

The Crestron TSW 7" was the ideal paging interface.  We opted to build our own unique paging stations, -instead of searching for a comprise.

We placed 5 x TSW-770 7” Crestron touch panels at key communication locations; office, warehouse, shipping, production, and the clean room.

With the built-in native RAVA SiP communication platform within each touch panel.  Including the ability to create a completely unique and simple custom user interface.  The one device was able to handle every aspect of the user interfacing; touch capacitive button, built-in microphone, speaker, and SiP dialing.

In essence, we created a custom touch screen paging system.  We utilized the existing cabling previously run to the legacy access points and installed Soundtube IP speakers.  Due to the high current requirements.  A specially designed PoE switch was included to manage the device loads.  The PoE speakers also allow for each speaker to be it's own zone.

The Biamp TesiraForte DAN VT4 acts as a Dante (network audio) matrix with 32X32 of (future) virtual channels available.  The Tesira also acts as the telephony gateway audio bridge.  The Barix Annuncicom is a SiP server, acting as the touch panel bi-directional dialing host. The Crestron RMC4 manages the touch display graphics while sending specific commands to the Biamp and dialer for call routing.  Each and every speaker volume level was adjusted specifically for the location it was installed.

From a design build concept, it was relatively complex for a paging solution.  However, the simplified scalable user experience was critical.  All parties were extremely happy with the result.  Since the installation, the system has been expanded to include more zones and another touch panel has been added.

Scope of Work:

"Walk  to  any  of  the  5  touch  panel  locations  and  page the system  freely.   We will preset  the  volume for  each  of the 13 zones to a set level required to fill  the  space effectively. The customized interface  of  the  touch  panels  will  have  a  3-zone preset paging control  panel  (Offices,  Production,  etc) and including  a  “Page All”.   Upon  pressing  a select  zone or  all  zones.   The button  will  latch  and  light  up  allowing the  user  to  speak  freely  until  unlatched  (VIA  a  second  button  press).   After  30  seconds  the panel  will  reset  back  to a mute state.   All  touch  panels are connected  to the SG350 Cisco PoE switch.  A  SoundTube  IPD-SM52  White PoE speaker  will  be at  all  13 endpoint  locations,  -all  connected  to  the  Soundtube  STNet  High  Output  PoE switch.   Located  in  your server  room. It  will  act  as  a  gateway  and  power for the speakers.   The Biamp TesiraForte DAN  VT4 will  act  as a Dante (network audio)  matrix  with  32X32  channels  and  will  be installed  in  either  one  of  your  server  rooms.  The  control  system interface  will  reside  on  the  Crestron  RMC4  control  processor.   A  Crestron  Certified  AV-Link LP-200  Call  Manager handles the  addressing  for  the  touch  panel  door  station  for  up  to  10  locations. We’ve  allotted  time  and  extra  cable  to  add  additional  touch  panel  locations  and  hardware removal. The Stryker  logo  can  be freely  added to the touch  panel  at  each  location."

The Expressed Need:

Simple-to-operate Microsoft Teams video conferencing solution for the US and Canadian offices.

Client moving to MS Teams Internationally.  Legacy Video Conferencing system is being removed.  Unified Teams MTR solution required for multiple meeting rooms in both New York and Vancouver.  From one AV provider.  System must have a dual redundant failover.

"We needed a company that could provide exceptional AV service for our Vancouver AND New York offices, -using the latest Microsoft Teams video conferencing platform"

The Solution:

We gave the customer a scalable and solid reliable redundant meeting room solution.  The system(s) utilizes the latest Crestron NVX 4K video distribution over IP.  Ultra reliable, and worry free.

Particularly for the Manhattan office.  We were able to pre-test nearly everything and deploy onsite in a matter of days.  We migrated the entire tabletop telephony in both Vancouver and New York, to Microsoft Business Voice.  That was a life changing experience.  No more painful testing with hours wasted on trail and error.  From start to finish.  Microsoft Business Voice was deployed and working flawlessly.  Directly from the touch interface.  The systems were clean, operated exactly the same in both cities, and easy to operate from either in-room touch panel, wall or table.

Scope of Work:

"Overall system functionality Teams will natively operate exclusively on the tabletop touch panel. This will allow for a one-touch join
solution & a straight-forward user experience.
There will be an additional wired touch panel located on the wall as system backup that will offer room
controls & the ability to select the room PC input as a Teams backup. This touch panel will not offer native
Teams integration or one-touch join.

The Vancouver Boardroom has a client provided Steelcase table monument with USB, power, network (Client LAN)
and dedicated PoE port.
Live document collaboration is available with your O365 subscription.

Control System
A Crestron backbone will control the room and will allow for expansion & future system changes. Added
is a redundant CP3N processor in case of a system failure – this will only become active during phase 2 of
the Conference room integration.
You will have a moveable (connected via cable) 10” touch panel for use within Teams. This panel will plug
into a dedicated jack within the table control panel box. This will have a “page flip” that will allow you to
control the room.
A hard-wired 10” touch panel will be located on the wall. This panel will have the essential controls for the
room and will also serve as back up for if the removable panel loses operation. Client will be able to select
room PC to operate Teams by logging in to their Teams account using the mouse & keyboard.
Teams operates on a dedicated NUC PC that is a locked environment.
Additional host PC will allow for USB table input, back up Teams (through browser or software-not
running natively), regular use and remote connection for troubleshooting.

Video System
Crestron NVX encoders & decoders ensure that all video sources are available for routing to any display.
The latest generation of DigitalMedia, DM NVX Series is the only secure solution that delivers 4K60, 4:4:4: &
HDR over standard 1GB ethernet plus USB 2.0 routing, built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processing) and all-in-one
encoding/decoding. Unlike other less secure network AV products, there is no need for an expensive
command line 10Gb infrastructure.
We will install client provided cable box as additional source selection for user.
One Intel NUC PC will be the backbone of the user experience operating exclusively for in room use on
Microsoft Teams. One Intel NUC PC is provided for remote troubleshooting by our team alongside regular
PC use & USB table input.
Share content over HDMI table input to either Teams or to the display, or share content using Clickshare device.
New York Boardrooms are a single display.

Audio System
A Biamp Tesira audio DSP will include a VoIP and pots interface. Either Telco or VoIP can be managed.
Client to provide VoIP configuration details if necessary. Biamp must be registered as an endpoint per
room (as if it were an additional handset) If requested, additional redundancy may be added by
supporting both telephony formats in case of line failure-subject to a change order if requested after
initial sign-off.  (This was changed to "Microsoft Business Voice" when it became available)

The room will operate with Shure ceiling MXA 910 microphones, and will be mounted on a pole installed to the
ceiling. The lobe configuration will be adjusted to suit the setup and environment."
